IN THE BATHROOM OF MY DREAM

high_def_CLEO_zoom_02-eng-1170x508.jpeg

In the bathroom of my dreams, there is a bathtub with lion’s feet, a large walk-in shower, a touch of wood and a splendid mosaic floor…

I can still remember taking a shower in Bali in an outdoor bathroom wilderness, and another, more recently, in Essaouira, one which I could describe as a jewel of beauty and sweetness. I was thousands of miles from home and what really interested me was this French luxury that I found. The rooms were fitted with numerous natural and noble materials. Wood, terracotta tiles and copper cleverly mingled with more contemporary, decidedly designer materials.

What if your bathroom became your favourite room?

A tasteful bathroom is guaranteed to make you feel calmer and more relaxed than ever. A few tips are all you need to make this area a haven of relaxation, a place to purify the body and mind!

Here are some tips to transform your shower space!

  1. Sort it out

To create a stylish space, start by sorting out your products and arranging them beside the sink on a pretty tray. Only keep make-up you use every day and your care products. Store the ones you use from time to time in a drawer (nail varnish remover, scrub, mask, wax etc.).

  1. Choose pretty bottles

Pour the contents of your toiletries, shower gels, shampoos, scrubs and hand soaps into pretty glass bottle pumps or into jars with lids for thicker products! Some green products are sold in 5-litre containers, which is ideal! This will avoid unnecessary waste. If you make your own cosmetics, shower gels, scrubs, solid shampoos, etc., then congratulations, you probably already know this trick!

  1. Invest in linens

Think of the softness and comfort of hotel bathrobes and towels… Soft and fluffy terry towels, or pretty foutas will give you the feeling of a real spa in your home!

  1. Look for a nice golden mirror

Quashing the modern look of your sink will provide even more elegance! I’m a particular fan of curved and scrolling objects, which I think add a touch of charm to modern and minimalist decor. I like barber mirrors, bronze. Add a lovely matching shelf, a glass jewellery box, a golden hook for hanging towels or a nice tap to strike a perfect harmony.

  1. Tweak the lighting

For ultimate relaxation, do not forget to play with your lighting. Think about having different sources of lights, dim or embedded lights in the mirrors and furniture, and a natural white light to get the day off to a good start.

  1. Give your walls a facelift

To completely change the whole appearance of your bathroom, do not hesitate to decorate your walls with Panolux, wall coverings which, with a few clips, will cover your old tiled wall! (example in the photo of the walk-in shower below)

  1. Bring some nature into your room!

Placing some plants that only require very little light or some pretty exotic branches in a vase will give you the impression of being somewhere else and add warmth to the whole effect!

Add to that some water at optimum temperature, some rose petals, a few drops of essential oils, a cup of tea, and you are ready to enjoy a moment of calm and absolute comfort!

When will you start your journey of the senses?
