INDUSTRIAL STYLE FOR THE BATHROOM

Industrial style is a celebration of raw materials and objects. Though industrial decors have taken over our living spaces for some time, many people have now adopted the trend in the bathroom.

Industrial style is that “flea-market” look that brings a touch of French-style elegance to your bathroom. You can create a renovated atelier feel with a combination of elements and details…for a striking interior.

1. LET IN THE LIGHT

Using glass panels – often associated with lofts – is an excellent way to add brightness to your bathroom. Whether you use them as dividers, position them overhead like a skylight, or install one to replace a small window, this is a definite must. They add volume, depth and airiness to your interior. What better way to spend relaxing moments than with space like this?

2. PIPES FOR ALL TO SEE

Industrial style openly exposes what is usually hidden. Copper pipes and electrical ducts become decorative elements of their own, dressing up your walls! The bathroom below is a perfect example. Unfinished tapware paired with contemporary vessels make a definite design statement!

3. SHOWER OR BATH?

A large, walk-in shower will look beautiful next to an industrial-style glass section (be bold and add a giant showerhead), while a floorstanding bath will have a great effect in an open-plan space!

4. ADD A CURIOSITY CABINET

Vials, smoked-glass bottles, tiny items and several plants will highlight the vintage atelier look!

5. WALLS AND FLOORS

Raw surfaces in fireclay, polished concrete or cement tiles fit the industrial trend.

6. HUNT DOWN THE RIGHT DESIGN PIECE

Track down an upholsterer table or a weathered, antique buffet and repurpose it into a storage unit under your vanity basin. These pieces all tell a story. Using them in this manner underscores the charm of the room. Also consider a wooden stool, a metal locker, a trolley cart, a painting, a vintage bathroom scale, or a porcelain knob attached to an antique door to hold towels.

7. MATERIALS TO LOOK FOR

There is nothing more stylish and trendier than stainless steel, copper, zinc, cast iron, and wood for that raw, retro feel.

8. FOCUS ON LIGHTING

To showcase your space, select workshop lamps with contrasting wires, XXL suspended fixtures, hurricane lamps or a steel lamppost…and give your room charm and personality.
